I agree, the price is way too much for most people to shell out. If they would be sold for around $700 - $800, then I think they would be more appealing to the consumer.

Re: .17hmr rifling
Well, a rifle barrel is steel, cleaning brushes are bronze, jags are brass. Both are SOFTER than steel. How they claim cleaning can damage the bore I'm not sure. Yes the lands & grooves are smaller could be slightly more delicate but if you use a .17 rod & brush/jag you should be fine. Now ...

Well I can't say one way or the other about the HMR but I know my 17 Rem does tell me when it needs cleaning, accuracy go south when it's ready. On the other hand, I don't clean my rimfire barrels. Remember Theron's 10/22 that had so many rounds through it, he couldn't keep a scope on it? That thin...

Re: .17hmr rifling
We have seen here at the gun shop that .17 caliber rifles are far more sensitive to copper fouling that some other guns. Especially in the centerfire rifles like the 17 Rem and the 17 Fireball, we have had some shooters clean theirs after about every 50-100 rounds. We had a .17HMR in here the other ...

We have been selling the heck out of the Ruger 77/17WSM guns. I have been telling people that they discontinued making the 77/ series actions. Not they are going to think I am a liar. I am glad they brought back that rifle in the 17WSM again. The other offering from Savage is a hunk of junk in my op...

When we lived on the farm just south of town here, we had pack rats. There were about 12 nests in the tree row around the place. They found a way into almost everything. Wires chewed off in vehicles, dog food stolen and put in interesting spots, all kinds of stuff. I trapped them with a live chipmun...

Basic frame may (or may not) be from the NOS bin, but I believe it's got the New Vaquero's (2005 - on) reverse index pawl. Also looks to have an SBH hammer. Note canted (and likely serrated) front sight. It is the large frame of the original Vaquero. Other than barrel length and gripframe, this loo...

I have done it. As long as you use the pistol primers in rifle, you should be OK in the loads you mentioned. The rifle primers are a little bit longer (by about .005" or so). If you use a rifle primer in a pistol, you might have a high primer situation and if you are using semi auto, you could ...
