FMJ Round nose: For thick skinned applications where deep penetration and bone crushing energy is needed.
That part cracks me up, but I do think they are a very nice change to the plated stuff. It will be nice to see some range reports or even some phonebook tests. :D

There has been a discussion about this on RimfireCentral.com for the past several days. There is some skepticism over there regarding this, although there is some interest in it regarding the Kaliphornia lead bullet ban. The guy who is marketing it is from Africa. He is posting under the name "22FMJ" on that forum.

In the .22 Ammunition forum, look for " new 22 lr jacketed bullets". (I'm not sure about the rules here regarding posting links to other forums, so I didn't post the link).

CCI has a new nonlead 30gr TNT 22mag loading part# 0060 ideal for my Lipseys' Special 4 5/8" barreled SS Ruger Single Six with 22rf & 22mag cylinders I understand Ruger didn't make very many of this special issue according to my dealer who asked me several times if I wanted to sell it cause he could get a premium price for it,at this years SHOT show I asked Lipseys' staff if they had anymore of these & they said no .

I'd like to try some of that "bone crushing" bit on some of the vermin I have around here.

No price, no availability, no ballistics, no test target groups...........so far I'm not impressed.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

"Non Toxic, Lead Free, Environmentally Friendly" ... that's about as helpful as Barnes' ads. It's an interesting concept, but I have to imagine the ammo costs more than twice what is common in the marketplace today. Ammo makers have 22LR production down to an economic science. There's no way this guy is going to put 50 round boxes of this stuff on dealers' shelves for the $20 he's going to need. I might root for him if he weren't pandering to the lead control police like Barnes.

I don't find the phrase -- "FMJ Round nose: For thick skinned applications where deep penetration and bone crushing energy is needed." -- to be too humorous or outrageous.

Some countries and even some areas here in the U.S. restrict rifle use to .22LR and that round is used for animals up to coyote size and even some bigger game. Badgers come to mind and they are very tough to kill especially with a long shot.

Anyway, any "heavy duty" .22LR round would be a welcome addition to my ammo suppply and to other guy's ammo supplies too I would think.

We had a lengthy discussion about it on RFC but didn't know these existed. I'm extremely skeptical that any jacketed bullet design can be made to work with the heeled design and expand at .22LR velocities. Nor do I think it will extend the effective range and still offer 'more' expansion than a traditional loading. Further, I don't think anyone would be willing to pay for such a miniscule increase in performance, even if there is one. I hate to sound like a critic and I think it would be great if I was wrong on all counts.
