S&B Primers any good?

Post by JohndeFresno »

Sellier and Bellot primers are being offered at a "sale" price (given the current prices) through Graf & Sons.

Assumptions are frequently dangerous, but given the fact I have found S&B ammo to be reliable in a few cartridge offerings, this is a tempting offer.

How do they stack up to Remington, CCI, and/or Winchester primers?

For plinking and CAS ammo, I tend to shoot almost any brand of primer that will go bang. When loading hunting or serious target loads I tend to follow load data recommendations concerning primer make and size.
When making up any high pressure (near max) loads I don`t deviate from the major data suppliers listings.
Do they offer any load data at all? :?

Same. I've shot thousands of rounds in over 10 calibers from S&B with few issues except one particular 158 grain load in .357 over 20 years.

Used the S & B LP primers in 45 LC. They work like a charm.

I bought 5000 last year and have used about half of them in my 41 mag, 44 mags and 45 colt revolvers. They work good not too hard and no misfires so far.
