OT - Back from Ethiopia - thanks to all

Post by rjohns94 »

I am back from the trip and wanted to let you all know that your support and prayers were appreciated so much by myself, and magnified by God. I have an extensive day by day report that I will get posted but I wanted to let you know that it was an amazing trip. I promised that I would send a list on the support gathered and how it was all spent. As you may all know, for the last year (since my return from my first trip to Ethiopia) I have been gathering your gifts of cash, clothes, school supplies and soccer balls, as well other toys. I also put up for sale dozens of weapons, and dozens of other items as I reduced my excess and gathered funds for not only the trip but for the items needed in Sendafa-Beke.

I sold 17 firearms in the process, many to members here, along with holsters, knives, ammo, etc.

In total, I gathered nearly $14K for the trip in cash and about 60 pounds of supplies, clothes and toys. All went with me. Supported was the $2k for the trip, several micro-business projects were sponsored and I was able to contribute the balance to the 300 Meter Well/pump that I signed the contract for. That well will be completed in the next three months and the chlorination systems have been delivered. Prayers are needed for the drilling of the well and that it will produce the amount of the needed water.

We served dozens of homes, HIV patients, clothed nearly 200 children, painted a church inside and out, made and hung window, door, stage curtains for the church and visited 185 children in two schools.

Your prayers kepts me safe, rested, and brought together the water project negotiations. I thank you so very much for the blessings of your support and prayers. I will post the day by day report soon and the pictures will follow. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'd say Welcome Home but it sounds like you were at home there too in many ways. So, Welcome Back! It seems a great job was done by all. There is a lot of job security in working for your Employer on that trip! Keep up the good work and let me know if we can help again!
