I'm not finished with the re-handle yet, but thought that I'd show what I've done so far.
First, I removed the issue rubber bumper (handle) from the new Roach Belly:
Then, I cut a tine off the Whitetail shed, and scribed the size of the CS tang onto the cut end B 4 drilling/filing to fit the tang
I then cut 3/4" off of a stick of Ebony, similarly marked/drilled/fitted the wood to the tang, & did a dry fit.
Keeping safety in mind, I taped the antler & the blade before epoxying the handle materials to the tang.
I then ground the Ebony down to conform to the antler, and the choil @ the rear/bottom of the blade.
This is where this project stands today.
My next steps will include finish sanding & polishing the Ebony & cleaning all the wax/epoxy from the rear of the blade, before it's completed.
