Winchester Eastern Carbine Mini Range Report
I had a little time to spare, so I decided to try out my new to me 1915 made 1894 in 32 Special
http://www.levergunscommunity.com/viewt ... =1&t=39072 Brought my 1901 32-40 along too.
I stated out with 3 rounds of Winchester 170 gr Powerpoints. 50 yards (roughly) off my range bag
& rickety portable bench. They shot a bit low & left. Next I tried 5 rounds of Hornady 165 gr
Leverevolution. They centered a bit better. The wind was picking up & closing the doors to the
range I belong to's shooting enclosure making it difficult to shoot much more. I'll try for a more
in depth report when time & weather permit. I will say the Hornady stuff has a bit more bark to it.
I think a better shooter than myself would improve the grouping.

Looks like you have a shooter there. Mine likes the Federal 170's...and will do what yours are doing at 100 yards from a solid bench rest. I love the looks of the Eastern Carbine...a classy style for sure.
Looking forward to the next range report...good luck!

Looks like you're going to have a nice shooter there, CB. And it would be interesting to run those rounds over a chronograph.

Nice rifle and carbine. I need to get one of the original 1894's someday. Beautiful rifle.

That carbine is very nice. I've never noticed that particular style in detail before. It is very nice with the short mag. The 32-40 just makes me jealous!
I'm reading good reports on the Hornady ammo and bullets for the 32. Originally I planned to keep my new to me 94 32 WS as a cast shooter. But those pointy bullets are getting a try this spring with the new Leverevolution powder. Thinking cast for general carry and shooting off season and those 165 grainers for deer season.
Your shooting looks just fine to me.
