My wife used to hate it when I read a McManus book before going to sleep. My snickering and outright laughing at times kept her awake!

Yup good high quality laughs are like a medicine, eh? Every fishing trip I went on had a long roll of sequences prior to departure, some of them lasting the entire season.

I fully agree that having too many goals creates a lot of stress...

That's why I modified my BUCKET LIST...

...And my list now starts with the letter " F " ! ! !

(Shamelessly stolen from a Jerry Seinfeld stand-up joke...)

I've got a fairly extensive collection of McManus' books. And my wife knows if I'm reading one before going to sleep as I lie there and shake and snort while trying to be discreet about the glee! I do believe I've known each and every one of his characters over the years and his stories never grow old.

Since I retired, I only have one goal. Wakeup tomorrow morning. If I do that it'll be a good day. If I don't it won't matter.
