God’s blessings

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

We are having rain for the first time in a very long time in South Texas. Thank you Father.

Praise the Lord! We just had a few dry weeks here and felt it badly. But there's a world of difference in the ecosystems. I'm so glad you got rain. May the stock tanks fill and the aquifers be replenished!

After my work was done last night in El Paso I decided to drive toward home and I stoped for the night in Fort Stockton. It started to rain when I was parking my truck and this morning it is still raining. This is wonderful.

Y'all are blessed for sure. Up here along I-20 in the Rolling Plains, no such love, but when I stepped out early this morning to grab a shot of our lovely sunrise colors, the perfume of rain was incredibly strong -- perhaps born to this place on the southeast winds after Harold delivered a glancing blow to the Austin area.

Austin received some but nothing hit here on the San Gabriel River ... other than it's much cooler than it had been. That part is nice.

When Y2K was in Boy Scouts (back when they were actually Boy Scouts), every time his troop went camping it rained. It got to the point where we considered renting them out to draught-stricken areas...

Praying that rains come again and frequently in Texas. You can have anything we'd get here for the next two weeks. I am having a sink hole repaired in my yard, and the last thing I need is rain right now!

The only upside I can see with this endless hot, dry spell is that it has been a mighty slim summer for mosquitoes. I'll take it!
