A Milt Sparks Summer Special, after all these years

Post by Bill in Oregon »

I have been reading about this IWB holster for the 1911 for decades, and finally ordered one for the Tisas-built Commander in by-God .45 ACP that I have en route. Hope it is as comfortable as folks say it is.

Yup. It is.
I have one for my Colt LW Commander and one for my 5" Government Model. Most comfortable 1911 holster I e used. I can carry a full size steel 1911 all day with no issues.

I have used the Milt Sparks Summer Special and a couple of other Milt Spark's holsters for many years. I have experienced the most satisfaction out of their holsters over any others.

I still have a couple of those holsters made by Bruce Nelson. The Milt Sparks version is thicker and made to last forever. Bruce thought that these holsters should be made of thin leather and that they would wear out just like an article of clothing.

This is my Galco knock-off they call a Summer Comfort, (anyone else remember Southern Comfort?) and my Kimber 4 inch. It's really comfortable and conceals well.

I've carried a MIlt Sparks custom for almost 40 years... I had mine made with a sewn loop and roughout leather... grips the clothing better, but requires planning.
