Miroku Winchester markings

Post by HawkCreek »

I have several newer Miroku made Winchesters and love them all. But I've never seen markings like these. Anybody have any input? Not the best picture but it reads
US Repeating Arms, New Haven CT, USA
Made in Japan

It's an 1886 in .45-70. Not Browning markings but no Winchester markings that I've ever seen before.
