Love those guns. My only one is in 7 mm Rem Mag, and it just doesn't seem the right cartridge for a No. 1, but it is a beautiful gun. 303 somehow seems more fitting and a good choice.

Like Doc my number 1 is in a caliber that doesn't seem appropriate, .218 Bee! But it's a real shooter after some minor bedding work. Mine has really nice wood as well.
I'd really like to find one in 9.3x74R!

Back when I was swaging on Corbin equipment, I made a 225-grain soft point for .303. It would have been a great match for that No. 1 if you believe in heavy-for-caliber, moderate velocity.

303 Brit is one a the few mass produced cartridges I never shot much if any or loaded for . Always thought it would have been neat to take a sporterized enfield to Canada and plunk a moose .

After around thirty #1’s I’m down to three . A rebarreled 22-250 AI , a 1B 243 WIN and a 1H in 375 H&H MAG . I’d kinda be up for a 1A in 6.5x55 or 6.5 CM .

I've been wanting one of those. The .303 has always been one of my favorite cartridges, and the one that started me down the road into reloading. I bought a No.4 Mk1* in a parking lot when I was 16 for $50. I've had a couple dozen since then and still have about ten, my favorite being a '42 Lithgow.
