Looking for a good quality gunbelt for CC
Something pretty stiff to hold up my overhang and keep my Sig or my Freedom 97 and my pants where they belong. I supplement with suspenders and have bucksaw logger buttons on all my important pants. Go! Thanks!

Re: Looking for a good quality gunbelt for CC
I have a Safariland belt that I wear almost daily. Double thick, plenty stiff, even after years of wear. I wear a lighter horsehair braided belt for those times when I fell the need for a lighter belt.

Rob Leahy at Simply Rugged should be able to help....about to place an order for one myself there. Check his website if you get the chance as I know he would do right by you.

I like the Looper Reinforced Series Gun Belt.
It's leather but has a kydex stiffener sewn inside.

Saddleback Leather "Old Bull Belt". One very thick piece of leather, no stitching with great hardware. Extra holes to find the perfect fit, 1.5 or 2 inch. 100 year guarantee.

You don't have your location listed, but at the Dallas-Ft. Worth area guns shows there is a vendor, Rafter S Leather, that makes and sells excellent single and double thickness belts in 1.5 and 2" out of various types of leather. I have 3 of their belts. I wear the black one almost every single day and can't seem to wear it out like I have so many others.

I've been wearing Wilderness 5-stitch Instructor belts for 15 years. Two of them (only went to the second one because I am no longer a 175 lb 23 year old).
If you're more into leather, the Aker B21 is a perennial favorite among detectives I've known who needed a leather gunbelt which didn't scream "tactical".

I recently got mine from El Passo Saddlery and I'm quite happy with it.

I have used, with great success, double-layer bullhide belts from www.thebeltman.net with great success.

Re: Looking for a good quality gunbelt for CC
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm weighing options, spending some time on the I-net. Looked at a belt made of elephant hide...kinda like it, but $200???. I used to be a shoe repair tech (cobbler) and if I could get on a Landis K12 stitcher I'd sew two new belts together for a start....(leave both ends single thickness).

I went into my local Fleet Farm store and in the tack section they have 1.75" wide belts that are almost three quarter inch thick with roller buckles and they still fit through the loops of Wranglers and Rustlers. I think I paid around 18-20 dollars for the belt and it's comfortable to carry a 1911 or Blackhawk all day, every day. Great belt for the money, check your local tack shops.
