S&W Barrel Shortening

Post by wvfarrier »

I recently traded for a S&W 25-8. It has an 8 " barrel. I am looking for a reputable smithy to shorten it to 4". Anyone know of anyone ?

Try calling S&W and see if they have one in stock. I have bought several barrels from them over the years and installed them myself.

Try the Smith-Wesson forum, you may find a barrel there, and be able to sell or trade yours.

I have a 4" .41 Mag. barrel from a S&W Model 57 Blue.
I wonder if there is enough metal left to rebore to .452?

I have bought a few "KITS" (all parts except for the serial numbered frame from Police destroyed firearms) from gunbroker to get barrels.

That is where the .32 long build kit came from.
