The cop in me says one less pervert in the world and it was too bad he didn't suffer the way Farrah Fawcett suffered, but then another side of me (the side that the wife has been working on) says how sad... something about "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?" comes to mind. Way above my paygrade to judge this man. Hopefully he had a chance to get right with God in the waning moments of his life....

Never did one piece of music that interested me, I think the "evidence" indicates he was a child molester. In my opinion he was a perversion to society. I am sure many good people died today - I don't think he was one.

I was wondering when he would finally stop moving. I got to thinking about it and I think he's been (un)dead for years...

When I first heard they had found him not breathing, at first I just thought it was a side effect of all the oxygen treatments. Figure he could probably go a week before he needed to inhale.

But then I rememberd he hasn't had to breathe since he was zombified for Thriller. Then the embalming fluid fire fiasco began his perpetual trips to the plastic surgeon to keep the pallid rotting flesh from dripping off... the ever present sunglasses covering the glowing red eyes and the bad wig should have tipped me off earlier...

Ed McMahon was a different story. If you look at his life he was a real American hero in many ways. He served this nation as a US Marine during WW2 and Korea.I took this from the net regarding his military career.

During World War II, McMahon was a fighter pilot in the United States Marine Corps serving as a flight instructor and test pilot. He was a decorated pilot (six Air Medals) and was discharged in 1946, remaining in the reserves.[5]

After college, McMahon returned to active duty. He met his first girlfriend, Jenifer P Smith, on his first tour. He claims that she was the one to motivate him to become a better person. He was sent to Korea in February 1952. He flew unarmed OE-1 Bird Dogs on 85 tactical air control and artillery spotting missions. He remained in the Marine Corps Reserve, retiring with the rank of Colonel in 1966 and was then commissioned as a Brigadier General in the California Air National Guard.

His death caught my attention because I'm a week older than he is. I've always remembered that since I read it in some magazine.

I didn't hear the autopsy results, but it sounds like he was getting painkillers prescribed by a personal physician. So, in code, that means he was doped up nearly all the time, probably to forget his troubles. I seriously doubt he really needed painkillers for a broken leg from years ago. Probably needed them from looking at "the man in the mirror".

Anyway, that kind of thing is bad for your heart and liver, so it's not unusual to have a failure.

I think it's a shame he let his life go the way he did, he was really on top at one time and could have moved on with dignity, instead of trying to remain a teeny-bopper forever. He was exploited by his parents at a young age and it screwed up his head. The thing with boys was unfortunate, but he had a lot of opportunity with stage mothers shoving their kids at him just to get close to his fame. He should have known better but people like that get isolated and have so many "yes men" around them they think they can do whatever they want and never have to suffer any consequences. But, no matter who you are, if you ruin your heart, it stops.

Not to change the topic, but remember Heath Ledger, the young actor from "The Patriot"? He did the same thing, downing prescription drugs for no particular reason, and OD'd one morning in his $20,000 a month loft. Twenty-eight years old, rich, successful, everything to live for. How stupid. Anna Nicole Smith was another one.
