The GForce 1892 Copy in 357
The Turks are at it again- https://gforcearms.com/firearms/rifles/gflvr357-rifle/
Just plugging this in for comments and maybe a user review, eventually. I like the stock configuration much better than Rossi's, don't care for the aluminum receiver or finish on the standard Huckleberry. I might could live with the steel frame, case-colored version.

I'd sure be tempted to try the steel-framed version as well, especially if they beat the Rossi price point.

I'd sure be tempted to try the steel-framed version as well, especially if they beat the Rossi price point. I see the stainless model for $610 on Gundeals.
Re: The GForce 1892 Copy in 357
I stopped at a gunshop near Mt Vernon MO yesterday. They had several stainless Rossis, $850 + tax. I bought 50 rounds of American Gunner 357 XTP ammo (58 bucks). I had other stops and couldn't stay long.

Re: The GForce 1892 Copy in 357
I wonder if the ' case colors' are painted, just looked at their website and the spec sheet says the receiver is aluminum.
(My ipad has krapped the bed, and some sites don't play well with my phone so maybe I can't see where it shows steel?)
From the tiny pics it looks nice though.

.
the lever is nice just a 'bit' larger but not comically-so like some are.

Will, it seems you are right -- that they all have aluminum receivers. I'll wait till all the facts are in.
Re: The GForce 1892 Copy in 357
The case colored model is advertised as having a steel receiver.

Yeah, it looks like the cyanide dip method of case coloring on steel.
... I love poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.
Re: The GForce 1892 Copy in 357
More than likely just chemical dip finish.Thats how all the Italian color cased finishes are. Real cyanide color case is pretty dangerous stuff .
For the life of me out of all the 1892 copies not one copy is dead ringer for the original. Not even close.

I had figured an 1866 could be made with an aluminum frame, but I didn't ponder a 357 1892.

Sent GForce an email regarding the color-cased version's receiver material. Will report on any reply.

Me too. The Turk 92's stock configuration is so much better, it wouldn't even be a contest for me. I've had 3 Rossi 92s and all but one had problems from basic QC stuff, to gutting them like a fish just to get them to run.Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 8:01 am I'd sure be tempted to try the steel-framed version as well, especially if they beat the Rossi price point.
Time will tell on the Gforce. The aluminum framed rifle doesn't interest me at all; but I am anxious to see some regular guy shooting reviews on any of them.

Sarge, I like the wood and finish on the steel model, the proportions look fine and I'm not offended by the barrel band architecture.Sarge wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:01 pmMe too. I wonder about the aluminum. All of the Standard Sporting Rifles [SPRs] are all-aluminum except where they aren't. The Bolt and Buffer Spring, etc. I don't know what isn't to like. Just a me-thing I guess. These discussions remind me of all the bargains I turned down in the past !

The Turks can make some interesting guns but I hate putting my money into Muslim companies, I have seen good and bad firearms coming from Turkey but like buying from China I am wary. Saying that my last shotgun was built in the USSR...

I wouldn't put to much value in computer renderings, I'd wait for real photos.
Slow is just slow.

Re: The GForce 1892 Copy in 357
A club member came to the range yesterday with the .357 in a cc steel reciever. It didn't look bad. Fitting wasn't the best but easily fixable with a little sanding. The CC looked a little much. The rear sight was dovetailed in but also had a set screw so you could easily adjust for windage which seemed kind of practical. The front site was red fiber optic and very visible. It does have that goofy safety on top like a Rossi but without the bright red and green lettering. He let me shoot it. It is very light. It cycled well and we shot factory .357, reloads, .38 special and everything cycled perfectly. It would make a decent truck gun. Personally I'll stick with my Winchester Trapper but it was much better than I anticipated.
