.45 combo

Post by Ysabel Kid »

Well, since we've done a ".357 combo", and a ".44 combo", this was definitely needed! :D

Good stuff guys!

These go when I just want to have fun and shoot something. :D

Miroku '73, Ruger Old Army and a Taylor's Hickok. Thought this set needed a backup and that short barreled .45 is surprisingly accurate.

These are the ones that got my Lever Madness started back when I started shooting CAS around 2001.
WInchester 94 Trails End, (2) Ruger Vaqueros and later and much smoother and faster a Uberti 73. I lightened the springs on the 73 and put Wolf springs
in the Vaqueros. The one has Eagle gunfighter grips.

If a 3 gun combo is good, a 4-gun combo must be better? The Uberti 1860 & Uberti Sporting rifle are too long to fit in the frame! There are a Winchester (Miroku) 1885 LowWall, a pair of Colt SAAs & a Taylor's Firearm ½ Octagon 18" Uberti.

I don’t have any 45 pistol calibered rifles as none were made before WW1…..but I do have an 1886 in 45-90 and a Colt Government Model in 45 acp with factory ivories. Sure hope this counts. Don’t want to disappoint. I don’t know what that thingy is behind the hammer on the 1886 as I heard those are really hard to find for that model…dunno…..I use it to scratch my back.

That stupid looking revolver behind the 1911 is a Colt Shooting Master in 44 Spl….it also has an extra factory fitted cylinder and crane in 44-40 but I don’t know how to change it.

This is a split decision. My B'rer Bear Woods walking pair.

If you imagine a 1911 in the image, that's my 45 pair.

But the RedHawk is a 44 mag, and the B92 is still in parts, and I actually used this combo, so I guess I could say the revolver self identifies as 454 Casull. Or I could say the rifle identifies as 44 Mag. But they are both silent on the matter. We just have to use our imaginations I suppose . . .
-4.jpeg
Redhawk load is 405Gr exiting around 950fps, the Guide load is 525Gr exiting at 1440 for a 49 TKO and 2416 ft lbs.

The 44 load is 23 TKO and 811 ft lbs.

Very nice combo Veeman……

Many people don’t realize it but there are less Old Model Rugers in 45 Long Colt than there are 44 Flattops………I have an OM 45 dual cylindered example in the box and papers with 6 rounds out of it.

That's the right stuff! I missed out on all the SAA stuff.

Blaine traded off his 45/70 BFR. It was a hoot to shoot my 525Gr rifle load from it. Got 1310 fps. Closest I ever got to a SAA was the cap gun I carried when I was 4. More's the pity.
