Mountain Lion Encounter

Post by Pete44ru »

.

I thought some here might be interested in this video some hikers took, of their encounter with a Mountain Lion on a trail they were hiking.

I guess while some are so terrified that they prepare goodbye videos for their families, the rest of "us" would be deploying our pocket-carried long-range skull drills....

I remember years ago when Leftafornia banned hunting of the lions the encounter rate went through the roof. I'm betting that if you employed your long range skull drill they would lock you up! Or the next party of left hikers would proceed to pummel the bejeezes outta ya for defending yourself! But I agree, turn it into Chinese food!!

I always get a good thrill seeing lion tracks, kills, and especially the lion itself. Hearing one scream just at dusk will really get my attention. It also spooks all the deer in the area. :)

They went very quickly from being the trackers to being stalked from above. Lucky for them the cat was not interested in a taste test.

My dads land in North Alabama has a few that roam through but we rarely see them and only see the tracks now and then. Hear them a little more than that though.

Here in South Louisiana we don't have to worry about them although now and then I hear a story about someone seeing one but not much is confirmed.

A few years ago a neighbor had her horse killed by a mountain lion over in the barn on her land near Ferris, TX. The neighbor lives in town.

Us Aussies must be a little bit smarter than kalifornian hikers, b'cause even I knew the cat would be above the trail if they followed it around the bend.
Must admit though, that would be one heck of an adrenaline rush.
