New Mold

Post by 6pt-sika »

While it's no secret I'm an advocate of the Ranch Dog style bullets I hadn't gotten anything in awhile .
I think it was 4 or 5 years ago Ranch Dog came out with his 432-240GC and it just so happens I have one of the Lee 6 cavity test molds and have put it to good use . Well NOE offered their version in a group buy back in January or February and I got on the list for an RG2 (a two cavity with HP abilities) .

Well I received mine today , cleaned it up with brake cleaner , sooted it and cast a couple dozen .

I've got the NOE HP versions of the RD 432-240 , 432-265 and 432-350 . As well as the molds I got BRP to cut on the Ranch Dog design in 432-375 and 432-400 in both FN and HP versions . Anyway it'd be kinda nice if NOE was able to do a run of the RD 432-300GC HP as well !

I got all of them sized lubed and checked when I got home this evening .

Might try and cast another 50-100 tomorrow . Need to see how some other stuff goes first .

I killed a deer with the FN version of this bullet 4 or 5 years ago .

I have no doubt I can get it shooting pretty well and plunk one this coming season .

That looks just like the big brother to my Ranch Dog 32/20 bullet that I use in absolutely every 30 and 31 cal rifle I own. Wonderful!

You know funny you should mention the RD 313-115GC . I made chamber casts from Marlin 32-20's I had for that mold for Michael . Used an 1894CL , 1894CCL and an original 1894 circa 1906 . Did the same for his 259-85GC also sent chamber casts for that one from an 1894CL and an original 1894 circa 1902 .
