Traditional hunting cap -- (Christmas gift- thanks mom)

Casastahle- I know you like this stuff --LOL ------- I feel privileged , nay, ecstatic! --- to be the recipient of this hat at Christmas from my mom ------ Its a Woolrich, I think she got it at Dick's of all places, but this headpiece is sweet --- it looks regal and keeps me warm at the same time !

I love it ! -- just my first opportunity to photog it -- oh, and it has to be pretty cold to break it out, - much like my Sorel Caribou's - (but cold in Oklahoma is subjective - this thing is awesome for 40 degrees on down , as there is usually a 25 mph wind chill to go with it

----- on a side note -- what is that tiny ear flap pocket for? -- we recently had a spirited debate (5 or 6 pages worth) on legalizing marijuana -- so the first thing I thought was that would be a sweet place to tuck up a dooby , in case you need to get weird up in the box blind

Classic 8)
As for the little pocket, I've no idea of it's intended purpose.
Zippo lighter maybe?

It never gets cold enough around here for that, but, I dig the heck out of it   (The license and tags would fit in there....)

BlaineG -- can you imagine walking around Pikes Place with that hat...I like the hat too...we should both buy one and show up together...might make the paper or at least get a mug-shot at the King County Jail... :)

In reference to the pocket on the side, it works well for holding the hot hands. Helps keep your face and ears warm.

My wife has one of those, though not in plaid. I got it for her because her ears were always cold, even if I was wandering around in shirt sleeves  On her hat, it's not pockets on the sides, it's flaps that open so you can hear better. Lucky for me she doesn't open them!

I think Blaine is right about the pocket, also a good place for a compass or if things go bad your dog tags.

Great cap, and just what you need here in what used to be Indian Territory. I'm wearing my cheap imitation of it as I sit here on my unheated porch to use the computer. It's -6F here at 8:00 this morning.

I have one of these Elmer Fudd hats. Wonderful! Not sure what the pocket is for, tho. Maybe to hold your cigars? :D

Yes -- I will definitely be using this rascal today - and the pac boots -- supposedly -9 this morning. That's a rare temperature for Oklahoma. But its sunny out and a pretty day. Went out without gloves early to get my trash to the curb (its 200 yards) ---- that was a big tactical error on my part

Interesting thoughts on the little flap pocket --- I at first thought a Zippo too, but not sure how tolerant those are of being upside down for an extended period. But the hot hands idea definitely has merit !

My wife made a trip to the north left coast some years ago and came back with a Filson E. Fudd hat-real fleece lined. Ya know Elmer was NOT as dumb as he seemed, the hat is the envy off all when the wether goes bad. Theres no way yer ears can get cold and the deep drop on the back keeps yer neck in good stead. The bill keeps the glasses clean and your face just feels better due to the retained heat in your head. Fashion be$&*^, these wrap-arounds really make life in the cold so much more bearable.

The fur on thet puppy will get it's wearer shot (or badly scared), by some of the yahoo's I'm ashamed to find in these Eastern woods, every now/then.

I have the Blaze Orange version of that hat, for REALLY cold weather - including walking my dog.
