Experienceing one of life's bad turns

Post by wm »

Last Friday got caught in a rain storm and was drenched. I thought I had some dust or sweat wash down into my eye. That would not seem like a big deal but I could not seem to clear it out no matter how I rinsed the eye out. Turns out it was a little more serious then that. I have what is described alternately as a gouge or a crater in eye an the ophthalmologist thinks it is the result of a chemical burn and I need to return daily to see him because of a infection in the eye. I wwas working with TSP and I must have a some splash back on my forehead that was washed down behind my glasses. Kind of a one million shot.

Since I am right handed and it is my right eye I guess I'll be putting the guns up for a couple of weeks. I'd appreciate a prayer if you can spare the time.

Go to your local natural healing/food coop/Earth Fare/Whole Foods and get the homeopathic pills Aconitum 12c or 30c. This will help the eye heal.

Heal well friend.
Kind regards,

U got it........

There's no pain like an injured eye, since the eyeballs move even while dreaming/asleep. (BT, DT - NTS)

Back just after I was discharged from the service, working construction, when a laborer released one branch of a bush I was standing on to knock into a foundation hole, the branch end flew up between my RH eyeball & the socket, bruising/scraping both badly.

What followed was some weeks of Hell, until it healed - so I feel your pain.

The good news is eyes usually heal well and heal quickly, but be sure they rule out a coincidental viral infection or something like that, or that no secondary infection starts up in the wound. Pretty 'routine' stuff for the eye docs, so they should keep you clear of trouble.

Maybe upgrade the goggles, too...

Prayers up. I've had a couple instances of eye problems, but the good news is, they usually heal very quickly if taken care of like you're supposed to.

Done. I don't know what you were put on, but some of the steroid medicines available for the eye are rather good at healing it quickly. Even with following the Doctor's instructions, don't forget to listen to your own pain receptors. If the pain suddenly intensifies, get back to the Opthalmologist as fast as you can. If there are any negative changes, go get checked. If the vision is clearing and improving and there is no pain, then you should be fine. The human body is rather good at telling you that something is wrong.

Thanks for the prayers guys......I got the all clear today. Still some healing to go but the infection is all cleared up and the irritation and inflammation is minimal now. I figure another few days it will be as right as rain.

Thanks again,

More than once I have had to get grinder dust, spark slag or whatever flies around the shop, out of my eyes at the clinic. Eye doctors are good to have around and they are able to desensitize the eye easily with drops. It's actually kind of cool when you are no longer hurting and your spirits lift and you get to lay there and watch them work on your eye. The view is from the inside and even though they are right at the eye surface, for some reason to me it seems all in focus. It's some sci-fi stuff.
