OT: Gun/Man Room Additions.
After Christmas before birthday.
After birthday, hung up the now personalized speed bag and added a few other gift items.

Decorator items are really neat, but I couldn't stand a gun/man room that neat. Mine looks like a band of gypsies just left.

Nice stuff! Things like that make a fellow's lair more interesting. I have a nice 2" thick plank of quarter sawn Burr Oak that I'm going to make into a very nice gun rack as soon as I find the right rusty hooks.

I'm thinking about going with a set a wrought iron hooks for my next man room wall hanger.
Just have to line them with some felt.

Yeah, they left my gun room because there was no room for them to make camp and there was nothing worth stealingChas. wrote:Decorator items are really neat, but I couldn't stand a gun/man room that neat. Mine looks like a band of gypsies just left.

Kirk,
This is a set of hooks I actually got to watch being made by hand a number of
years ago. J and I were at a local apple harvest festival and there was a blacksmith
set up there making small items like these and selling them. Wish I would have
picked up a few sets of them at the time. I probably should use a different type of
screw though. I lined them with leather.
Re: OT: Gun/Man Room Additions.
When I built my new gun room downstairs, I proclaimed to my wife with all the conviction I could muster "No more guns in the corners". You should see it now. My wife likes mock my proclamation every so often but every time I mention another gun she encourages me to get it.......The perfect woman!
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Does the leather turn the brass green where it is in contact? I've been using green felt left over from when my pool table got felted.casastahle wrote:I lined them with leather.

A small birthday candle rubbed over the leather every blue moon or so, helps keep that under contol.

If you have a custom hook style that you need, I can help. I make, sell and use a lot of hooks annually. Though mine are a little more costly than that website stated. Here are some uses and you can look to
