Ganjiro, you ask a brilliant question.

The poster was being proper and not using the correct term. He really meant to say an butt load. With the word pertaining to a horse/burro hybrid. And in that context he most likely bought 1 standard wagon load. Which would be in todays terms a pallet of ammo and possibles.......

Then again he may have just been trying to use a superlative and in which case your response would be appropriate......

Don't look like they are closing to me! In fact they just opened another store in Roanoke Virginia. They were also selected as one of the best hunting store's around. Mike

I hate to here that, I go to the one in Lewisville sometimes, they're about an hour or so away so don't get there often, they have one of the better reloading selections around.

No store around here, but I hope they don't go out of business. I have ordered several thousand rounds of ammo from them over the internet this past year using my Buyer's Cub 10% discount.

I think I cleaned them out of Fiocchi .44 mag. 240 gr. H.P. for about $19 a box of 50. earlier this month.

Thank you for the heads up. I will be there Wednesday picking up a few things for my hunt, and now maybe a few things for later on.

:D

Went to the store yesterday and it was crowded with lots of bargain hunters! I did get a great buy on a Filsons duffle bag that I REALLY needed, some AA2015 powder, and a few other things. The ammo and reloading supplies were going fast.
A store employee told me that the location is the reason for closing and that they do not have a new location yet. He also said that if there is enough interest, they may open another store in the area, but at a better location. I hope so, as it is only a 10 minute drive there from my house and I prefer it to Bass Pro or Cabelas.

There are two stores in S.A. They've probably found they can't support both stores in that area, especially with a Cabela's right up the road in Buda.

What goes around comes around, though. When the Buda Cabela's was announced, Sportsman's Warehouse astutely put in a store in Round Rock, effectively capturing Cabela's Austin-to-Waco market. 'Dat's business.

I was in the store on the West side of San Antonio today and they confirm that they are closing. I hate to see it too.

Please confirm if the San Antonio store is at 1911 Loop 1604. If it is the one closing, wher the heck is the other Sportsmans Warehouse in SATX.

Thanks

I haven't been to the one in Lewisville in a while; I need to really make a serious run over there. It's just that both Cabela's and Bass Pro are more convenient to me. Sportsman's Warehouse has a better reloading section than Cabela's though....and Bass Pro? Well, we all know what they did with THEIR reloading section! :x

Tom,

I think both are closing - the one near 281 on 1604 and the one on the West side.

That's a pain because I don't like having to drive to Buda to the Cabela's.

FYI there not offering any discounts on ammo..almost all the 50 percent off stuff is gone..they said they are going to close all there stores in Texas..I told them there problem is they pick crappy locations to put there stores..the one in lewisville is hard to find....and they don't advertise, If I didn't live down the street from them I'd never knew they were there..

The one on the North side of San Antonio is NOT closing.

However, the one on the west side definitely is.
