Handloader Journal for August 2007

Picked up the new one today & it has two good articles on leverguns. One by Brian Pearce (what a guy!) on handloading the 45-70 for Africa & one by Mike Venturino on loading pistol cartridge leverguns. Both good. I guess Pearce finally got to Africa & he used a 72' model Marlin 1895 for the hunt. The story of his Cape Buff is really enlightening-he got two for one shot! By accident! Wait till he gets the extra bill-lol!
It's the only gunrag I buy anymore.

Handloader and Rifle are the only two I subscribe to any more. The new issue of Handloader has a great article by Pearce on custom sixguns. I buy the occasional issue of Guns/AH as well as Shoot! for my monthly doseage of Taffin and every issue of The Double Gun Journal I can find. Don't bother with the rest.

I too subscribe to Rifle and Handloader. Wolfe publishing is the only one that I know of anymore that puts out a quality magazine on a consistant basis.
