WTB/WTT NICKEL 30/30 CASES

#1 Post by fordwannabe » Thu May 04, 2017 5:38 am

Since acquiring a 35/30-30 from Mainehunter, I now have a dilemma, between the 30/30's, 32 specials, 38-55, I am concerned that I might get confused so for the 35/30-30 I want to do the same thing as I do for 357, 38special. One caliber in brass the other in nickel. 357are all nickel, all 38s are brass. 45 colt high end brass, 1858 remington 45 conversion nickel, you get the idea. Soo I want nickel 30/30 cases to convert to 35/30-30. Cash, trade let me know. Thanks

Won't work, they are plated after they are formed, when you re-size to 35 cal you will peel the plating right off.

I was afraid of that also, but tried 10 last night. Split 2, the others worked slick as Pelosi. Gonna have to get a bunch because I believe I will split the neck on more than a few, but I was splitting them on brass cases also. FINESSE IS NOT MY STRONG SUIT EVEN WHEN IT SHOULD BE.

To,,
Maybe I was lucky as I formed out a hundred 33's from nickel 45-70 and did not lose any. But.......I do not like nickel brass as they split after a couple of reloads and when they split, it's not a 1/16" split but half way down the case.

Besides, stupid people get confused....just load the dang things. What's the difference between remembering what is in nickel brass and actually looking at the loaded round? I can't remember when I ever bought 219 Zipper, 25-35, 32 Spl., 32-40, or 38-55 headstamped brass as I make it all out of 30-30.

Yea.....think I'll hit Oaks on Sat. There is a guy there who sells brass of every configuration ever conceived. See you there?---6

Yes Jack, I'll see you there. I found another 20 from my brass guy, so getting closer.
Gee Blaine, why didn't I think of that? Maybe I should put them over that shiney round thing in the one end.....Really? I mean Really?

I've tried and tried to explain to Blaine that he shouldn't let Jack D. and Adolf help him post
