Sweet! I knew Ike favored a .410 for quail, but did not know he shot a Model 42.

Fantastic collection.....I would love to spend an afternoon with that guy!

I don't think a single Winchester is manufactured here in the US any more...

Amazing gun room, and 42 collection! Love to see stuff like that! He's really put together a very complete collection of a single model!

Wouldn't that get boring after awhile though???

Although I'd love to have all the space, time, cabinets AND MONEY it took to do it...........

Well my guess is it wont get boring. My collection isn't as specific as his, as beyond Ballard rifles I also have Remington Rolling Blocks and Hepburns. But I wouldn't be bored if my collection was only one of these three, as there are so many variations of each that I'd never get them all!
For most collectors it's the chase that's a huge part of the collecting, and what keeps them interested.

Larry Sidener is a regular at the "I Love My Winchester Shotguns" forum at the Shotgunworld.com website. This was shot last year and was supposed to be part of the 150th anniversary celebration for Winchester, but for some reason it wasn't finished until this year.

Larry is like many of you on this forum, always willing to go that extra mile to give a proper answer to any Model 42 questions that get posted.

If I'm not mistaken Eisenhower had a 410 Parker as well .
