9 short weeks

Post by GunnyMack »

Well the count down begins! Took my dog, Winnie to the breeder yesterday. Another breeding tomorrow and we can start counting the days until whelping! This will be her 3rd litter, her last.
My plan is to keep a female to keep the line going.

Now to start thinking of names. I'm thinking Ackley but that seems to be more of a boy name...
All of my dogs have gun related names.

Bronco-Winnie is the mom, can't use that again... and she is registered as Winchester Magnum

Pitchy - I'm sure both of us use some of the same names for people!

Annie isn't bad, not sure about Oakly. But a registered name of Annie Oakly kinda works. I'll put it on the list!

Brunhilde is a bit much but I like your thinking!

Keep the names coming!

Hi Jim!
Can't use Maggie, Keith Gipson had a Maggie that he changed to Maggot so I always think about that!
Kimber I used as a temporary name from a prior litter, Purdy & Rigby as well! Although Kimber is going on the list.
Hmm Anson & Dealy - Annie for short.

I suppose Henrietta for Henry but that's too many syllables!

Dixie is my Yellow! She just had her right eye removed, now when she barks she says ARGH I'm a pirate!

Just back from second breeding. I really don't want to do another 4&1/2 hour round trip for a 3rd breeding- I hate driving anymore!

I hear ya on the chocolates- they are whacky & mischievous! Not sure about Winch but my Claro is always in high gear and on the go!

We had a bear visit early this morning, just took the girls out and all three started growling & huffing. I'm still in awe of how evolution has kept bears and canines at odds.

This describes Winchester to a tee. I had him at the archery range on Monday evening, he has to wear a long lead, because he doesn't realize he isn't tied to anything. Any way he was run in and gun in throughout the woods with this 20 foot leash and I call him to get behind me so I can shoot, well here he comes, about half way back on the leash is a 8 foot 2x8 with the leash wrapped around a nail. He is struggling but he's coming full steam ahead through the woods, rocks and all. That is what chocolate labs bring to your life. We were his FOURTH family by the time he was 7 months old, because he's smart as a whip, and full bore a t all times.

I got a pair of Beagle pups a number of years ago and I wasn't in a hurry to name them . And folks kept after what are their names ? Finally I told them to call the make A.S.S. And the female HOLE ! Made them easy to call back at the same time 😉

I've always wanted to name a dog GOAWAY so when I had to call it I'd be yelling COME GO AWAY or HERE GO AWAY just to confuse folks.
I knew a C'MERE years ago.

Great news from the vet this morning! Winnie's progesterone level was over 21- she IS PREGNANT!! How many pups we won't know until later in July when we do an ultrasound!

Gunny:

This IS a site geared to leverguns right???

Call her:

* Marlin

* Winny

* Rossi

* "Bella" (aka "BLR")

Just don't call her Mossy... (Mossberg).

And if it you keep a male -- then Henry will do. :wink:
