Picked up a new lever gun

Post by barbarossa »

Picked up a new lever gun today.Have been eyeballing a browning Bl 22 micro at a local store for a while and decided to make it mine. Not being a real big guy the fit of the stock is not a problem for me at all and when hunting rabbits wearing a winter jacket it should be about perfect.I have a marbles bullseye rear sight they I might put on it in the future.

If you hunt rabbits with it, I think you'll like the Marbles Bullseye. It is absolutely the FASTEST sight I've seen to get on-target - even in poor light. The outer ring is visible quickly and in poor light, and gets you 'almost-on' (good enough for 90% of shooting), and an extra tenth of a second or so allows the eye to center the front sight in the smaller, hazier, ring. It's like having a precision aperture sight within a larger ghost-ring sight. My only complaint is that they are 'drift-adjust' like most factory sights, and I keep trying to dream up a scheme to mill one to fit onto the adjustable base of a Williams FP. However, once you get it sighted in, it is rugged, and one of my favorite sights.

Nice gun too....

Food for thought, Doc - Williams makes a w/e adjustable rear barrel sight (WGOS) that has an adaptor that secures it to a rear barrel sight dovetail. which adaptor & base might be possible to use in a Rube Goldberg sight conversion.

For quick shooting, I really like a HiViz and ghost ring. Taking the insert out of a Williams is just fine.
