Marlin model difference question

Post by dkmlever »

I have owned a Marlin 93, in 32 Special for 30+ years, carbine 4 digit serial number great shooter made as best as I can tell mid 1920's. I just bought a Marlin 36A flat bolt made in 1947 same 32 Win Spec, Besides the length of barrel and one is case colored - one is blue, what are the differences between the two in receiver/action? Any other info on these two would be great!

Receiver is the same design. It didn't change until 1947 with the round bolt 336.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Hey there DKM -- Another difference would be the main spring was changed from a flat main spring in the 1893/1936 series to a coil main spring in your Model 36a. Hope this helps. Best regards. Wind
