Memorial Day Picture.

Post by Blaine »

a fella can try to write up his feelings about why Decoration Day is important, but a pic is worth a 1000 words. It is, after all, in the end, what is fought and sacrificed for.

I got this shot at the VA Clinic in Prescott, AZ....

This one says it all....( ...had to 'sanitize' the caption a bit... :o  )

I like this one too. I've got lots of patients like the guy in this drawing....more brains, more integrity, and more 'badass', than any of these Campus Snowflakes out there whining and rioting will ever have...

Image

Some of the Snowflakes are no doubt 'tough' and strong enough to throw a good punch, or a brick through a bakery window, and that's fine, but a REAL badass is also smart enough to know what the fight is actually about, instead of just joining a media-frenzied mob.
Part of badassery is also knowing how to be kind, and gentle, and caring, and unselfish - which can be far more difficult than just 'shooting bad guys'. A REAL badass can do it ALL.

I'm glad they don't [yet] have a Snowflake Day.....my flag would be at half-last for a different reason. :|

Blaine G: has it right. I believe that an Australian war memorial simply says:

"We gave our today for your tomorrow"

One of those who gave his today was 15 year-old PFC Dan Bullock, USMC:
www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/05/ ... an-bullock

And lest I forget my comrades from E battery, 12 Marines:

David Felt, PFC USMC, KIA Aug 1965
John A Girod, PFC USMC, KIA Feb 1966
Peter P Domiano, Lt USMC, KIA July 1966
Billy D Nelson, PFC USMC, KIA July 1966
Bradley A Pearson, PFC USMC, KIA July 1966
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....
