Anybody own or have used one of these? Does it work like the article says?
I'd love to have something compact like this so I didn't have to drag out my Oehler 35P when I needed to chrono something.

Couldn't even get a reading off mine, first shot blew the heck out of it, kind of expensive to shoot enough conographs to get a average. You would think the would make the bullet proof or something.

Zounds! I have one of the old Chrony models....I think it was a hundred bucks more or less a long time ago...Bestlever shot the sunscreen and bent a couple of the rods...I need to put that one back together and see if it still works...

I asked Jeff Quinn about testing one a while back, I didn't know how much they cost at the time. He filled me in on the price. I figured it was too pricey for most people.

Yes, that is a good amount of money. But I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I knew it would work well. I don't want to be one of the Guinea pigs.
It would sure make setup less time consuming.

But you can't beat the features of the Labradar, it can give you velocity from muzzle to 100 yards if you need that data.

Well, that IS interesting. I'd not seen that before.
But it's within 170 bucks of the radar unit in my 1st post. What I like about that Labradar is that it doesn't have to be attached to the gun or shot through/over. The user reviews say it can be a pain to setup for multiple guns.
I went back and reread John Taffin's article. He says it works, and I am tempted to go ahead and try one. But Taffin says he has only tried it on revolvers and semi-auto handguns so far. That 100 yard rifle data would be very useful for verification.

thanks for your post, harry. It made me look on Midwayusa for reviews and I found plenty. I like that better than soley reading the reviews on Labradar's site.

I hate electronics of any kind. When I'm forced to buy electronics, I get the cheapest one that still does the job. I have/had two
Pro-chrono and an RCBS chronograph. I shot one of the prochronos with a flying gas check and the horse stepped on the other when my back was turned. The RCBS is great.----6
