BlaineG -- just wait, we're going to get hammered on our gun rights in WA, either by our Dem State Reps or the Dem Gov will sign an executive order... :(

My firearms have all self identified as antique muzzleloadind single shot flintlocks. Now that they are trans, it is imperative that all Democratics respect their self professed identities and keep any and all laws from infringing on their rights. My gun safe is a mechanical birth identity free zone.

I read a bit more today...In WA they stopped 50 sales last year. No arrests. Which begs the question, if it has no teeth, why the hades do it?

All they end up doing is making honest law abiding people into criminals.

I'm sorta curious. Living in Oregon and reading that the counties are not going to do "background checks", what is different with the "new" background checks from the background checks I've gone through for every gun I've purchased, from a retailer, since 1975 (9 in CA and 5 in OR)?

Once upon a time, they didn't require checks when people sold F2F...

Background checks for face to face sales would be almost impossible to enforce...

Nevertheless..... For example, my good friend gifted me a Henry .357. When I pass, if he's not around to claim it again, whoever gets it will try to register it and get dinged with having a "stolen" weapon. If he IS around and my daughter tries to register it they both get in hot water.
But, like I said, nobody has ever been charged as of yet. Honest citizens are not the target, and criminals would never think of registering.... It's FUBAR....

Being from a state with no gun registration, I don't quite understand.......is the gun 10-29s ?......if the serial number and description has not been entered into the federal database as stolen then it ain't stolen......unregistered and stolen ain't quite the same is it ?
All I know is what gun shop owners tell me.....After I-594 passed, the gun is forever linked to the original buyer unless it officially gets transferred. "Supposed" to keep guns from going to crooks.
