Type 99 LMG?
If I had it I would run over it with my tank...just because.
In memory of John Basilone and 1000s of others.

My late uncle MacLure Brewer was a China marine who enlisted in 1937 was mustered out on Dec. 5th, 1941 at Camp Pendleton, Ca., but partied the weekend away only to find out he could not leave the base on Dec. 7th, 1941 was "pressed" to re-enlist told me that before relief and US Army arrived on Guadalcanal they used both the "light" and "heavy" Nambus that they had captured to supplement their 03's, 1919 Browning and Win '97's.
Of course, after the Army arrived the USMC relieved the doggies of their Garands and food, and stopped using the Nambus because they drew friendly fire.
He retired from the Corp in 1961 and never talked about the Chosin Reservoir, but had many tales of his journeys through the Solomon's.
Sorry to highjack the thread.

Basically a Japanese re-design of a French re-design of the original American Benet-Mercie (Hotchkiss) 1909 "machine rifle."
Those things killed a lot of Americans in WWII and more in Korea where the Chinese used some of the thousands they captured from the Japanese at the end of WWII. A deadly machine. Class III unless de-milled.

Interesting, but I don't have the license to purchase it.

I thought the Japanese Type 96 and 99 MGs were based on the Czech ZB 30.Mike Armstrong wrote:Basically a Japanese re-design of a French re-design of the original American Benet-Mercie (Hotchkiss) 1909 "machine rifle."
