My favorite for that application are yhe Lyman/F.a. 300 gr, or the CPB 325 gr GC.. Both are LFN-style, and feed perfectly in a lever gun. You may have to cut back the stop on the lifter just a bit, to allow the cartridge to cleat the magazine. I had to do that on my B-92 Vrowning (Miroku..) I used b...

My choice for "deep" concealed carry is a Browning Mini-1911, in .380.

H-110/W-296 have no "unpleasant surprises", at pressures from 30,000 to 65,000 psi (.454 Casual range..) Li'l Gun behaves pretty much the same, and is better for heavier (180+) bullets in the .357. Neither powder works efficiently with light-weight bullets, giving the "flash-bang"...

You may have to relieve the top of the hammer and/or the flat underneath the firing pin extension..
Just enough to prevent binding, then polish both surfaces..
A little lithium grease on those surfaces, and vigorous cycling of the action should take care of it..

A heavy-loaded .44 mag., .45 Colt, or .454 can serve admirably in both short and long guns, and are only "underpowered" in someone's imagination..

Mostly as a jab at Winchester, I think, whose original designation for the .44-40 was ".44 W.C.F.".
Colt did not wish to advertise explicitly for their rival, but still wanted to hint at the connection, which was interchangeability of ammunition..
