Agreed. I don't know who added the handwritten note but if they're referring to the all up weight of the canvas it has to be way off.

Edit: On reflection, it's more likely to be 18 oz canvas ( i.e., 18 oz per sq yard), which makes for almost 15 3/4 lbs all up.

The trigger on this one is similar to my 96 Mauser. Two distinct smooth stages, the first quite long but neither of them at all heavy. The mag disconnect is still in place.

I am in the same boat, being perfectly happy with round apertures. It might be interesting to try one though.

There is also this hexagonal aperture designed to 'hit the target without focusing on the sight', which is what we do anyway:

I use them like an old service pull-through, ie, with a patch in the end loop. I keep changing the patch until it comes out clean. I guess I sort of missed the concept but I figured that the thick cord and brush loosen the fouling and the patch drags it out. I finish with an oiled patch in the loop ...
