Hmmm...,

Let's see... add more metal to the receiver where it's already thickest, but leave the receiver sidewalls thin as they were to begin with, which is where the stretching and bending takes place...

Once upon a time in the west... A feller in Utah who claimed to be some sort of Gee-Whizz gunsmith was rebarreling Winchester '94s to Frank Barnes's .458 American, aka .458 X 2".

The NEW Appaloosa is NOT a remake of the older movie by the same name -- no more than the Sharon Stone version of The Quick & the Dead is a remake of the Sam Elliott/Kate Capshaw effort of that name.

Remember, B-85s are made in BIG calibers, such as .45-70, .45-90 & .405 Winchester, not to mention .300 Win Mag, &c...

I doubt that little .270 WSM is gonna hurt the shooter any.

They are very nice rifles, IMHO, and are worth the money, if the caliber is close to what you want.

Why would 'rebarreling ' allow you to shoot your RedHawk loads better...?

If they are too long for the action, you can relieve the cartridge stop on the carrier a bit, until the bullet noses clear the front of the receiver and the breech end of the barrel....?!?

If it's just a simple matter of windage, it can usually be cured by turning the barrel in ever so slightly until the sight comes up square with the rest of the gun... Or until it shoots where it is pointed. Very rarely is the barrel already screwed too far in, but if so, it can usually be backed off...
