If you want a Miroku Winchester 1873, I believe the only caliber they make them in right now is .357 mag. Unless I missed something.

Perhaps a slightly oversize rim would cause that. Or a hard piece of grit or sand sticking on the bolt-face. How it would get there after just firing the first cartridge is anyone's guess. It would have been nice to look at the spent casing from that shot, but honestly, I probably wouldn't have had ...

Re: Uberti 1873 clones in 44 Magnum ???

This question has been asked here before, and there is seldom a consensus. Obviously, these replicas have to be strong enough to handle standard .357 mag and .44 mag proof loads, or they could not be exported. The big question is on how many rounds these guns will hold up to, even with special loads...

I had a Savage 1899 in 250 SAV made in the 1920's It had the 1-14"twist that had trouble with any bullet over 100 grains, and was picky even with 100 grainers. Some time later, Savage went to 1-10" twist in that cartridge, I don't know exactly when. That I the twist most modern bolt action...

Do those "race tuned and short stroked" 1873 rifles and carbines become less able to use and withstand full power ammunition? Kind of like the S&W 52, that will only function with 38 Special wadcutter ammo. I must admit, that rifle looks and sounds slick. I would sure like to run a box...

That is great. Now all it needs is a deck gun. It would have to start off as a handgun, to keep it easily legal, or you could make a muzzle-loading tube and do almost anything with it.

Thanks for showing that.
