"Good" and "Light" are easy to find but if you want both those forget "Cheap". Save up your shekels and buy a Beretta.

All those rounds are loaded with the same hollow point, cast bullet so I think they are hand loads. Neat to have those to go with the rifle. Sure would be nice to have the original barrel. Seems to me the crescent butt plate denotes a rifle and yours appears to have a carbine barrel now. Get that le...

You can't have more than 3 shots when dove hunting anyway (migratory bird) so why bother with all that extra contraption for one more bullet? I really like my Baretta s x s double. Let's see, I guess it was '62 or '63 that Uncle took my M2 Carbine and issued me an M-14. Never felt better about what I was armed with. I could easily swap my 12 pound , (loaded) FAL for one and get by just fine. I still need a Jeep though. It's been too many years since I've owned one.

I'm with 6 on this. I do have a Colt SAA in 44 Special but it always wears a 44-40 cylinder to match up with 2 73s and a 92 in that caliber. I do know if you rechamber a 44 Special to 44-40 it leaves a ring around the chamber that doesn't clean up. But they do feed better. Don't ask how I know this.

Does Armi San Marco chamber their '92 for 38-40? I traded for one recently in .45 Colt and it seems to be a pretty good rifle. Have you considered '73s? I know Uberti chambers them for 38-40 and there is NOTHING smoother or sweeter than a '73 that's been slicked up a little.

Polishing the top of the hammer, the bottom of the bolt where it contacts the hammer and mostly just lessening the tension on the hammer spring will greatly improve this problem. A good man on 97s can make it feel like hot butter. Our own NKJ can probably do it for you.
