Re: OT - unless someone has a levergun in .338 Lapua
DOC, I have a Browning A-Bolt in 338 Win that I love to shoot. It VERY accurate at MOA or less at 100 yds. I shoot 200 and 225 gr Hdys most of the time. How does the Win round compare to the Lapua? Re: 30-30 Reloading Question
The 30-30 is perfect for paper patched bullets. Pure lead, when patched can be pushed to around 2200fps accurately. The pure lead gives awesome performance on game. Harder alloys can be pushed faster. I have taken an alloy of 18.5 BHN over 3000fps in a 300RUM with just under MOA accuracy. Paper pat...

Definitely check how well the extractor is grabbing the round, including doing a slow 'chambering' to see if and how the claw slips over the rim. I've had to do some hand-filing on more than one extractor over the years.

Use 'binder clips' (the black spring-steel ones) about 1/2" or 1" in thickness (depending on how many maps and how thick your 'clipboard'), and about four of them along the top of a piece of plywood or masonite that size, holding ALL the maps flat, on the one board. Pop the wire handles OF...

I don't mind the Williams FP being on the front two scope-holes on the 1894. Bluesman, I like your spirit. Good to know what a top load for that bullet is in you rifle.
