Re: .44 WCF and split case mouths

Okay you have given me an idea - I never actually tried the 44wcf expander die with unsized cases. If I dont resize them at all - which I dont need to with blackpowder; fired cases chamber fine in my '73 - and only bell the mouths just enough with the .44wcf die to start a bullet, I bet they would s...

I forgot to mention that I had tried annealing the cases, I have done it using a candle. It seemed to improve things for about one more reload maybe two. I will do as you suggest and test two sets of new cases with roll crimp versus FCD and see what happens.

Thinking of that myself I have adjusted the expanding die so it is expanding the case mouth only barely wide enough to accept the base of the bullet - I can't do it any less and still barely start a bullet.

The thing that stuck with me was that he gave himself that nickname "Wild Bill". The men that knew him actually called him "Duck Bill" because of his nose, or "Shanghai Bill" because he was as short as a chinaman. I bet that wasn't in the picture.

It need not be a plate camera, just a decent rollfilm folding camera could do this. I am picking it is between 1900 and 1920. I count one Winchester 94 rifle, then three saddle ring carbines in a row, a Winchester 92 rifle took the bear, and the deer on the right taken with a button mag Winchester 92 carbine.

They must have specified cheap lenses for that military contract. What is better today is lens coatings which reduce flare. But old lenses, Leica, Shcneider, Nikon etc, are as sharp as anything made today.

It was standard practise in the NZ army to nick the field glasses off dead German officers.

The North Koreans cant even make a toaster work, they couldn't make a bomb that could hit anything 2000 miles away. There is literally nothing to worry about in America. Or Guam. (But if you are South Korean, then you should worry a great deal. I would have a bomb shelter if I lived in Seoul.)
