Re: OT - Winchester 1907 Autoloading rifle in .351 WSL
I'd like to have a 351WSL and would not hesitate to use it on deer if it were permitted here in PA. I have a Model 1910 in 401 WSL and really like it! The recoil isn't bad, maybe like a 44 Magnum in a lever carbine. Have not shot it in a while. I'll bet the 351 is really mild in the kick department.

Although I've never shot one in 38 Special, something tells me that as far as the report and recoil are concerned, it'd be the closest in that regard to shooting an 1866 in 44 Henry RF.

Re: Model 92 in 22 Remington Jet
I'd bet that the lack of recoil would not allow a pointed bullet in a 22 Jet to detonate a primer in front of it. My guess is the same result would occur with the 25-20 and 32-20 but that's as far as I venture! I've personally seen guys who (stupidly in my opinion) use 35 Remington 150 PSP CL bullet...

Re: Interesting conversion: Win94 from 30-30 to 303 Savage
The AR article from the late 70's mentions the conversion that was DONE in the 20' or 30's. 303 loaded rounds would have been readily available way back then for sure. Again I'll say that I'm not planning on doing the same thing but only wondered why that particular round was chosen for a re-chamber...

I never said I wanted to do it but was just curious as to how difficult (or simple) it would be vs. cost. I also wondered why the individual in the article did it. Maybe it would be a good project just for the sake of doing it when you're really bored and have another 94 sitting around begging for a...

Interesting conversion: Win94 from 30-30 to 303 Savage
While "rifling" through old American Rifleman magazines, I ran across an article in a 1978 or 1979 issue about the history of a particular Win 94 re-chambered to 303 Savage. What do you think about such a conversion and how difficult or easy would that be to do? Thought the topic would mak...

Re: I'm a 94 fan, but I have to ask...
No doubt that the 94 action is strong enough for the 30-30 family of cartridges. It's just not as slick as an 86 or 92 and therein lies the difference. If there were an 86/92 style action designed around the 30-30 and its offspring, you would definitely be able to cycle it quicker than a 94. That's ...

The rifles pictured do not look like they have tang safeties, so that's at least good. They need to get rid of the angle eject and make them EXACTLY like they were made in 1894 or no one will buy them. More original calibers need to be added as do variations like SRC's. The prices on "plain&quo...

Re: Why didn't Winchester chamber the 35 Rem cartridge?
Like Hobie said, the Model 70 was chambered for the 35 Remington so it's not like Winchester had a problem stamping "Remington" on a rifle. Another member said that Winchester was already making the Model 71 in 348 so that sounds like a good reason not to chamber the 35 Rem in the 94(plus ...

I've heard about the recoil being similar to a 45 due to the floating chamber but still can't figure out how that works. A note about the Model 14 Carbine in 25 Remington. One was on gunbroker last month and had over 50 bids. It finally sold for something like $2800 and it did not look in pristine condition. It had a pistol grip which I never knew came on the 14 Carbine.
