These are great little carbines made by Miroku as already pointed out. Even better than the later ones made by Miroku and stamped "Winchester" because they do not have the ugly tang safety and rebounding hammer.

There used to be one made in Poland by Pioneer Arms that was a good quality, heavy duty piece. Not sure what happened to that one but Pioneer Arms is apparently still in business. They make among other things AK47s but supposedly those are not good quality.

Winchester for me too ANYDAY. Have to admit to owning one Marlin 336T only because I had it rebarreled to 25-35 (with an 18" barrel) and slimmed the forearm down so it doesn't look like a club.

As for replacement stocks, MAYBE one from a Browning B92, Rossi or Italian 92 will work. But they could have metric dimensions so how close the fit is would need to be investigated.

IIRC, Winchester 1892 and 1894 buttstocks are the same. So if that's true and you see a 92 buttstock for sale, grab it!

My uncle used to live in Trinidad from 1977-1979 where he attended the gunsmithing school. I visited him there in June 1979 and have fond memories of the trip including some of the people involved with the school, both students and faculty. There is so much wisdom in what all of you wrote. In addition, I'd like to add something that my friends in (now former East) Germany told me back when the Cold War in full swing in the 1980s: Students had to work on farms especially during harvest time and also in kindergartens and old folks homes....

My first purchase with my own money was a 1930s era, well used 12 gauge modified Winchester Model 12 pump shotgun. Bought it in June 1979 for $212 including tax and still have it!

I also have a 20 gauge from the 70s, great little pump(!) but I've always wanted to replace the stock with an English style straight one and the pump handle with a thinner (smaller in diameter) style. The one that's on it now looks like something you could sell to an Eskimo to club seals with.
