I had a smith rebarrel my 270 into a 358Hawk he machined the 1/4 rail as part of the
barrel ... took 4 years for him to get it back to me ... but I have to admit it's great !!!!!

I have two sav 99's in 7mm-08, and just built a long range shooter in 7mm-08
in a rem 700. great cartridge,, I've hit pigs and deer with it,

not the same ammo selection as 308 but higher BC, less drop and wind drift.
I'm looking to start developing a load for it soon ...

I'd be up for one if you could select which barrel fired when you wanted..

I'd do an insert for say 30-30 or 45-70 in the top barrel then slug right
and bird shot left. the you have all bases covered for anything

one thing on 22lr in a 223/5.56, would be the rate of twist,
as I understand it ( and I'm prob wrong )
most 22lr's are 1X16, and the three common
223/5.56 are 1X7, 1X9, 1X12

so would a 22lr be effective in the lower two ie 1X7, 1X9 ????
