You guys can have every 45-70 out there. I sold my Cowboy after an 80 shot silhouette match. I came to the realization that it was a hunting round and not a plinking round. My LGS had a near perfect Cowboy on the rack, for over 2 months. Priced at $650. I was even tempted at that price. JDad you go...

Yep I did, and have seen the Marlin Guide Guns for sale at our local Walmart. I have owned the Marlin Guide Gun before, and have reloaded the 45-70 cartridge from black powder to smokeless but I really love that 26" barreled Marlin 1895 Cowboy model more than the, but could probably fill the it...

And there is it was, up on the shelf at the store with all the other short models.... the Marlin 1895 Cowboy with its 26" barrel with a price tag of $798
