I never had much luck with rimfire revolvers, they either leaded badly, were inaccurate or both. This one never leads, doesn't need adjustable sights and is highly accurate and reliable. I have the revolvers, a 4" S&W 624 and a 5.5" Ruger Bisley flat top .44 spl.
Now I just need the 19" Cimarron '73 carbine, unless I can talk them into chambering the 16" model in .44 spl.
Don't want a .44 magnum, has to be a special, I'm fussy that way.

Born and raised on the Mississippi river, call me a river rat. Lived for years in a boat house (floating shack) until I met my wife and moved to dry land.

I use the M die with great success. I also use the Lee factory crimp die, but not sure it's necessary, the crimp area in most seater dies should be fine. I like the .22 mag, flat shooting and accurate.
As far as ammo goes, Fiocchi has been very reliable for me, even better is Federal's 'Champion' load (40 grain FMJ), highly accurate, hot (over 1900 fps) and under $8.50 a box.
I think ya just gotta have both.

Not a big hunter, but I like the .22 mag a lot.
My .22 mag CZ Lux is the best firearm I own. Very accurate and consistent despite the long, slender barrel. Good reach to 200 yards.

I've got the model 97 4.25" in .357 mag. The grip shape is quite different than a Blackhawk, it's more of a Bisley style. It does not roll up in the hand like a Blackhawk.
The other poster is right about the COL length, it is limiting with some SWC bullets.

For handgun and small rifle I think my Redding 10X is about as good as it gets. No static issues, repeatable micrometer settings, smooth. Works well with every powder I've tried.

My 9422M shot OK, but was prone to misfires from weak primer strikes. I didn't care too much for the Winchester tube magazine, it likes to fall out too easily.
My CZ 452 Lux bolt action, now that's straight shooting, reliable gun with excellent open sights.

Handloader magazine had an article by Brian Pierce last fall about hunting loads in the .357 leverguns. Lil' Gun looked like the winner there.
Unique is too fast if you want hunting velocities from a .357 carbine.
2400, H110 would be in the same ballpark as Lil' Gun.
