Re: A lot of us Old Guys
Great names, and stories of the past. One writer I remember was Bob Milek, Thermopolis Wyoming. He hunted and guided with both revolver and rifle. After commnicating with him I chose my first center-fire rifle in .243 Winchester. And later his writings got me interested in a Python. The .243 has alw...

Have a Case XX machete that was in aircrew survival kits during WWII. There were two versions one a fixed blade and the other a folding blade. Mine is a fixed blade. Blade is about 1/4" thick and 16" long, Has a wider rounded blade at the end, which gives a nice balance, and the steel defi...

Oh yeah buddy, I remember them well. Not that I ever was allowed to touch one but I got hot coffee off the stove by the light of one of those lanterns of which I have several examples. I used to modify a pair of them to run on propane for the front of my gigging boat. Killed a lot of fish by the li...

In the olden days, even if one survived the initial encounter, the wound was often fatal, or involved the loss of a limb(s). Back then the treatment was often as bad as the initial wound...
