Re: Your Opinions On Sig Saur

I now own or have owned as many as 13 or 14 Sigs. P225, P6, P229, P239, P220, P230, P245, and now carry a P365. I have never had a bad one. They have all been reliable and accurate. Admittedly I am partial to SA/DA pistols, but the 365 has a nice trigger for a striker fired pistol.

Re: Sometimes you gotz ta splain things...

Heck, move to Nevada. You can go most any place concealed except the court house and federal buildings or where posted. Go to the bank or into a bar. Just don't drink. Of course, you should not touch a gun if you have had a drink (alcohol that is).

Hi gamekeeper.
You are correct. Video games aren't good baby sitters. Parents need to pay attention.

Re: New Henry Bigboy Steel in 357/38.

Hi pshort:
That price looks more realistic. I already have three 357s, two Rossis & one Marlin. One more would make it two for each hand,ha, ha! Yes, I really need one more.

Re: Prayers for the people of Santa Fe, Texas

There is no doubt in my mind that these shootings are the result of parents allowing their children to grow up playing video games depicting nothing but violence and killing. They have minds developed with no sense of apathy or remorse. Killing is a game w/o consequences. In spite of what liberal pr...

New Henry Bigboy Steel in 357/38.

I just saw a pro write up on this new carbine, but would like to see comments here which won't be biased. I must say that I'm disappointed in the price ($850). Wonder what pressure limit might be? Could it compare favorably to the '92?

I missed your point. What are the real folks doing? It's my home state, but I'm way out west now so I haven't heard any positive news. I'll never return there.

Re: Concealed carry --- again

I've been packin' the 1911-380. I really needed something light for my arthritric hip and I have the 1911-22 for less expensive practice. I have always been a 1911 fan. The cheap plastic front sight fell off twice. Browning suggested gluing it on with black Loctite, which has worked so far. I don't ...

Re: S&W Model 63-5, 3" SS Kit Gun (22)

Wow! I have S&W Model 43 Kit gun in 22LR with a 3.5 inch bbl and Herritt Shooting Star grips which I purchased in the early 60s. It is about as accurate as any 22 revolver I have ever seen, including my K-22 purchased a little earlier but now long gone.

Re: Rabbits under my shed.

You lucky devil. I grew up eating fried rabbit that my dad & I hunted in southern Illinois. Of course, I was the brush pounder to flush out the rabbits until I was old enough to participate in the shooting. I wouldn't try to get rid of the rabbits. I would just try to harvest them. I don't think...

Re: U.S. Navy Collision... How does THAT happen???

Well, regardless of the cause or the circumstance, the navy captain's career is finished. I don't think there is any possibility of recovery from this on his record. That's just the way it is in peace time. Of course, being a ground pounder, I have immense experience in the goings on at sea.

Congrats on your retirement. I worked 30 years for the same company. At the end of June I will have then been retired for 30 years.
It is still great to wake up every morning to another 7 day weekend.

Re: 3rd gen Colt 44spcl loads

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in here. I wouldn't pound my gun and my wrist too much with 7.5 grains of Unique. My plinking, practice, sissy load is 4.8 grs of Unique. I was more or less forced into that load for practice by my S&W Nightguard which is so light that it has REAL kick. So I ...

Re: Shotgun Powder Woes

I live in a small town in Nevada and have been a long time customer of Graf & Sons by mail. As far as I know, they have not had Unique for a year or more. I'm happy to hear Greentop has it. At least then I know it's still available some place and still in production.

Lever action 9mm Luger

I was reading the reader feedback article in the Feb. issue of "Guns & Ammo" magazine wherein someone suggested that a 9mm luger in lever action would make a nice carbine. I totally agree & wonder why it hasn't been done. A light weight Rossi 92 with 16 1/2" bbl would be fine ...

Re: Accurate .22 pistol?

Since I got the Ruger 22/45 Lite, I don't shoot my Mark ll and Mark lll much anymore. I put a nice set of 45 ACP grip panels on it and it's just great. Funny thing is that it only wants to shoot Fed bulk 22 Auto Match. Guess we all know 22s show a distinct preference for certain ammo. I have a Marli...

Re: 38 special 158 gr load for Rossi 92 and Smith 66

I have a Smith model 10 & a Taurus model 85. I never could get a good group with them using Unique. I found they both love 6.2 grs of HS6 behind a 158 gr Keith swc. I like Unique and use it in most all my handguns. This is just an exception, I guess.

I know Al Story personally and have done business with him. He is an honerable person as well as a very good gunsmith: a super barrel maker. I suppose this is another example of the BATF arbitrarily taking a man's livelyhood away on a whim. I simply don't believe he would intentionally violate the l...
