Very nice tools! You probably already know that those simple, unadorned grips on your Smith are quite valuable. They only made that size & style for the 58, so very few. Very cool.

Yep, need to know the sixgun involved.
The heaviest I've ever loaded in the Special was an RCBS Keith style that weighed 275 or so. I don't recall the load, I'm sure it was some ridiculous amount of 2400.

Four thirteen huh? Well, I bet if you cast some up out of about 1/2 lino type & 1/2 wheel weight or even pure it'll be about .410 or so. Or even pure lino. You might give it a try, if they don't work you can always just re-melt 'em.

Yes, those calibers usually do well with cast, no reason they wouldn't. There's lots of "Sticky" threads on Cast Boolits and they hold a treasure trove of info. I really enjoy the independence that casting gives me. I've all the primer, powder and brass I'll ever need and I can cast to my ...

Good move.
I dislike Lee's moulds. He uses the wrong aluminum, they're put together poorly, but they almost always cast nice bullets. I've got a good few Don't like 'em though.

I would expect the prices to be going up. The prices on most everything is, so why not ammo too? We don't have Trump's hand holding the throttle back anymore. It's back to business as usual, meaning darn everyone else if I can make an extra buck or two.

Back in the old days I had a Beretta tip up pistol chambered in .22 short. It had a very thin front sight and a hollowed out notch for a rear. But that gun shot far better than it should and it was no problem to hit tin cans out to 25 yards or so. A little cheap pocket gun with almost no finish lef...

We need to make those phone calls, send letters and emails. I think letters work better, becasue emails generally seem to come from email farms on the other side of the issues. I started casting over 50 years ago. Had a Remington-Rand .45 to feed with my Lee Wacker. I cast for most everything I shoot in rifles and all my handguns. With over a hundred moulds I can feed most anything comes along. I love it. Really appreciate the independence it gives me. Especially under tod...

If your .30-30 is a bench rest rifle then you should seat the bullet just short of touching the lands. No one can tell you where that is because it varies rifle to rifle. If your .30-30 is a regular rifle (lever or whatever) then do as 765x53 suggests: load 'em up and have fun. Loading to the lands ...
