Re: Let's talk levergun rifle throats
. Reaming the throat may turn out to be an exercise in frustration if/when the loaded OAL cartridge length is too long to cycle/feed through the action. This issue is common in certain models of leverguns. Before throating, I would respectfully suggest assembling the boolit of your choice into an em...

I have a Browning B92 in .44 Mag with a badly pitted lever, along with pitting on the barrel. I have emailed a couple of people to try and get a replacement lever but I don't even know if they are made anymore. The reason I want an original Browning lever is the badly pitted one has the Browning em...

IIRC, Miroku makes all the "new" 1886 and 71 rifles for Winchester (and is actually a part of the same parent company). Again IIRC the light hammer strike symptom was not unusual on the new Miroku 1886 rifles. Actually, the light hammer strikes only occurred in Miroku's that were built wi...

One of my Browning 71s had a bent firing pin. It would fire if the lever was cycled, but if I ever let the hammer down, then cocked to to fire, it would not. Can you take pencil or punch and lightly push on the back of the fire pin and make it protrude through the face of the bolt? Or do you feel r...

IMO, it depends upon the brass/cases used.
If you use balloon head cases, I wouldn't advise heavy loads; but might be OK with solid head cases.

Since Browning 71's don't have the later model's rebounding hammer (notorious for light strikes), there's usually three things that can cause your .348's light strikes: 1) There might very well be crud built up in the bolt's FP channel that's retarding FP fall 2) The mainspr...

IMO, FFFg is pretty hot and may produce lots of fouling in that large of a cartridge - It's safe to use FFFg, bu...
